First Steps
The first step for dental implant treatment is a visit to the hygienist, to make sure your mouth is as clean as it can be. The Implant
The implant itself is made from titanium, meaning it is extremely strong. It is also heavily grooved, and in many ways resembles a screw. Once the implant has been inserted, then it is left for several weeks, to several months, in order to allow the bone to grow around the implant, and into the grooves, securing it in place. In the meantime, a temporary crown is put in place to conceal the gap. Once the implant has been fused into the bone, then the implant can be fitted with a crown, and the treatment is complete.
